As promised way back at post #50, there's a giveaway marking my 100th post. Thanks to all of you who follow and encourage me with your awesome comments. It's been fun. For my 100th post giveaway, the winner will receive a subscription to Taste of Home's Simple & Delicious. All you need to do to enter is become a follower (if you aren't already) AND leave a comment answering "What is your favorite thing to do with apples?" You know, an "ode to fall". Plus, I feel like many recent posts have been "apple happy" with one more just waiting to be posted...
Good luck! Giveaway ends Monday at Midnight. Winner announced on Tuesday.
I LOVE making skillet apples to put over pancakes or waffles! Basically it's just making pie filling but with a lot of brown sugar and you caramelize it on the stove.
ReplyDeleteI am new follower 25! YAY!!!!!!Happy 100 post to you!

Honestly? Probably one of my very favorite things to do with apples is spread creamy peanut butter on slices. Soooo delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy 100 posts! Keep up the good work.
I think I am too late, but I love to make apple dumplings.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many yummy things to do with apples to pick a favorite, but one of the healthier anytime treats I like to make is an apple waldorf salad - cut up an apple, throw in some raisins, walnut pieces, and chopped celery, and mix together with Miracle Whip light (yes, you heard me right). You can pick and choose the ingredients you like of course.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower, in more ways than one ;). I love apple crisp. I've doubled the topping for my favorite recipe (it's offically on the recipe card that way now) and it's perfect. Love fall, and apples!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the goodies one can make using apples but I think our families favorite is applesauce in the crock pot. SO easy, tastes delicious and let's not forget the smell alone, mmmmm.....definitely one of our favorite Fall things!!
Thanks for all the recipes Nicole, I look forward to each and every one! :)
We love just plain old baked apple pie with ice cream. You can never go wrong with apple pie :)
ReplyDeletePreserve slices in a spicy brandy syrup and store on the shelf until you need them for marinading, cooking little smokies in at game time or just munching on a cold winter day.
